Brief historical background
According to history, the place where the school is situated today was like the valley of Anchor in the Bible where all sorts of bad things happened. It was a very fearful and dangerous place. It was the home of all sorts of wild animals and evil spirits. There was no road and people could not move freely through it for one reason or the other, they could not even farm on it either.
The land was declared “ODUNG AKPA” “ interpreted to mean “ “ANYONE WHO LIVE IN THE LAND DO DIE’ “ but God the Creator and the Owner of the whole world redeemed the land and instructed us to build the school. He declared that the school will bring light to the community as well as society as a whole and so it is. The name of the School “SIFON“ was given to the Proprietor, Rev. Dr. Reuben J. Ekpenyong of blessed memory at Zion Square International Christian Conference in Jerusalem in 1977. When he came back, he started the work for the school immediately.
In 1983, when all the necessary work has been completed; the name of the street, Unwana Imo Street was given. In September 1983 the school took off bearing the name SIFON with only 7pupils, later the number increased to 22pupils with 2 teachers and a maid.
In 1984, approval was given by the ministry of Education to operate the school. The full name of the school was given as “SIFON INTERNATIONAL NURSERY/PRIMARY SCHOOL.”

I - Ibehe Abasi
F – Fiok et eke Abasi adade ye nnyin
O – Owo idikanke nnyin
N – Nam kpukpru se anamde ke ndik ye utenge Abasi
